I am an out-of-network (OON) provider, which means that if you have OON coverage through your insurance carrier, you may be reimbursed for a percentage of the total fee. I recommend you reach out to your insurance provider to determine the following:

-Do you have OON mental health benefits?

-If so, what is the deductible?

-After the deductible is met, what percentage of the fee is reimbursed?

-How are superbills submitted for reimbursement?

  • You can expect to be listened to, and truly heard. We will discuss your goals and make sure that we are a good fit to work together.

  • For as long as it is beneficial, and until your goals are met. This ranges widely and I have some clients who, after processing their trauma, experience a significant reduction in their symptoms and are ready to move on within a few months. Others continue to do deep work and benefit from extended support. But in either case, treatment progress and termination is always a collaborative discussion between therapist and client.

  • EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing) is an evidenced-based trauma treatment that guides the brain in healing itself from PTSD and traumatic memories. Clients can expect a reduction in distress associated with trauma triggers, as well as an increased connection to positive beliefs about themselves.

  • I utilize a variety of approaches, tailored to meet your needs. These include mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, sandplay therapy, Internal Family Systems, as well as trauma-informed chair yoga.

  • It’s not sitting thought-free on a mountain top. Mindfulness is simply paying attention to the present moment.  It is done with a sense of curiosity and nonjudgment.  We can choose to be mindful of whatever is happening in the moment, using any of our senses.  We can stop and focus on the sounds, smells, and sights in our environment at any time.  We can take one mindful breath, or sit for a 5, 10, or 20 minute meditation. That is one of the concepts that makes mindfulness such a powerful tool - it is accessible at any time, no matter what is happening around us.

  • Maybe you shouldn’t. It doesn’t have to be for everyone. But for those willing to give it a try, its benefits will usually win you over.

Mindfulness meditation gives you the power to rewire your brain! Empirical research has found the following benefits:

    • Better Focus and Concentration

    • Increased Sense of Calm

    • Decreased Stress and Anxiety

    • Improved Impulse Control

    • Increased Self Awareness

    • Skillful Responses to Difficult Emotions

    • Increased Empathy and Understanding of Others
